LENORE T. COLEMAN, PHARM.D., CDE, has been a practicing pharmacist for 30 years. She has worked in hospitals, retail pharmacies, clinics and even did a stent with the pharmaceutical industry. An expert in the area of diabetes management, Dr. Coleman received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Califor-nia, San Francisco. She completed an ASHP approved residency in Ambulatory Care at the USC School of Pharmacy.
A Certified Diabetic Educator of 9 years, Dr. Coleman provides education and drug therapy management to ethnic populations nationwide. She provides on-line information on Diabetes at www. blackandbrownsugar.com and health screening throughout the United States and abroad through her nonprofit company Total Lifestyle Change, Inc.
Recipient of the Legacy Award for her work in health disparities, Dr. Coleman was honored by Aetna as one of the top black pharmacists in the country.
Currently Dr. Coleman is President of Healing Our Village, Inc. (HOV – www.healingourvillage.com). Healing Our Village, Inc. focusing on improving minority recruitment for clinical research trials as well as a medication therapy management and health education programming via internet and cable broadcast. Along with Dr. James Gavin III, she is the author of Healing Our Village: A Self-Care Guide to Diabetes Control.
